BOS Plant Cranes – TATA Steel

As TATA Steel’s principle air conditioning contractor we have worked with them on a project to renew the 50 year old crane and girder cooling systems. This is unlike any other project in Wales as the hostile environment that these units will operate in is extreme. The level of heat, corrosion and dust that the units will be subjected to means the units will be designed and manufactured to Severe Duty Standards. The cranes operate at approximately 100 feet so the logistics of the operation is difficult. The cranes are used for the charging of the BOS plant and carry the enormous ladles of molten metal. This totally bespoke project will be completed over a 3 month period.
