Tailored Heating and Cooling Systems
The facility originally relied on a steam calorifier; however, with the decommissioning of the site’s steam supply, a complete system overhaul was essential to ensure consistent, high-efficiency climate control across the entire office.
Following a comprehensive audit of the system specifications, the team presented two options:
- Option 1: A centralised VRF system with a single control point that provides uniform control throughout the building.
- Option 2: Individually controlled HVAC units installed in each room, allowing individual temperature control.
Prioritising both value and performance, the client opted for the second solution, an affordable, energy-efficient upgrade that also introduced cooling capabilities for the summer months.
Before the project started, the team put together a programme to minimise any disruption.
Although there were some changes to room design plans, the team adapted accordingly, working together with the electrical and mechanical contractors to get the job done.
