With energy prices being a top concern for businesses across Wales, along with the rising pressures to reach Net Zero, we partnered with PowerPerfector – the UK’s number one provider of VPO (Voltage Power Optimisation) technology.
Partnering with PowerPerfector
Originally developed for the Japanese market to withstand earthquakes, PowerPerfector introduced Voltage Power Optimisation technology to the UK in 2004, supporting some of the biggest names in energy and climate change.
Their unique design and build achieve a peak efficiency of 99.94%, helping thousands of organisations reduce their energy consumption, costs and carbon emissions, while also protecting their electrical infrastructure and equipment. PowerPerfector continues to be the only specialist provider of Voltage Power Optimisation solutions.
Energy Efficient Strategy
In response to the climate emergency, we partnered with PowerPerfector to install seven brand new units ranging from 110Kva – 440Kva. In collaboration with Blue Dot Strategy, the project aimed to improve the overall energy efficiency strategy across the entire estate.
Their latest installation was analysed using Degree Day Regression, in line with the International Performance Measurement and Verification Protocol (IPMVP, ). A globally recognised method for evaluating avoided energy consumption. The analysis demonstrated a strong correlation and a highly acceptable reduction in kWh consumption, contributing meaningfully toward their ESG targets.
Saving £100,000 per year
Based on their previous savings rate of 5.2%, the installation of seven units across the site has already resulted in an estimated average payback period of 1.8 years. A total saving of £100,000 per year.
Most commercial buildings operate on a three-phase supply, which means they often face the highest energy rates for their total power consumption. Implementing this technology, therefore, balances the energy usage across the whole electrical supply, reducing overall costs and increasing efficiency.
Here’s what Iesco had to say about the recent install:
“Acting as principal contractor, Riverside successfully managed the installations and I can confidently recommend PowerPerfector both for its performance and project delivery. Successful installs with no electrical issues. The engineers were excellent, thorough, and paid great attention to detail. They clearly demonstrated experience and understanding of working in such an environment. Highly commendable.”
With further installations planned, this rollout highlights their commitment to reducing environmental impact. While also improving the overall energy efficiency across its operations.
We look forward to continuing this partnership and helping support other businesses across Wales reach Net Zero.
