Sam takes on the TCS London Marathon to support Wallace & Gromit’s Grand Appeal in memory of Mia Jayne John.
In April 2026, thousands of people from across the UK and overseas take on the challenge to run the London Marathon in support of their chosen charity. This year, one of our very own, Sam Williams, will be running the race to support Wallace & Gromit’s Grand Appeal – Bristol Children’s Hospital, who support children and families undergoing life-saving care.
In loving memory of Mia Jayne John, daughter of Trisha and Bradley John, Sam offers further insight into his motivation for running:
I am running the London Marathon 2026 for the Grand Appeal and in particular Mia John’s Star tribute fund.
The Grand Appeal is extremely close to my family’s hearts. Running the London marathon and trying to raise some vital funds is a way for me to be able to give a tiny bit back for the help and support they have given my family.
The Grand Appeal puts Bristol Children’s Hospital at the heart of everything they do. From helping staff, patients or their families.
We’re incredibly grateful to Sam for choosing to run and raise awareness and funds for this charity. As he begins training, we offer him our full support and wish him the best of luck – we’re all behind you!
